Three days of celebrations for Pirandello’s birth

(May 23, 2017) The Italian Cultural Institute of Lisbon, resumes the celebrations for the 150th anniversary of Luigi Pirandello's birth with a rich and diversified program that will take place on May 25, 26 and 27. On Thursday, 25 at 6PM, at the Comte Lisbon Research Theater, the Portuguese actor Carlos Paulo, among the interpreters of Enrico IV on a billboard at Comuna, will read the story "C’è Qualcuno che Ride" with José Colaço Barreiros . Next will be the theatrical monologue 'Pirandello and its surroundings. Laughing to not cry ', played by Prof. Paolo Puppa, playwright, professor of Theater and Performing Arts at the University of Venice. The whole day of May 26 will be dedicated to the presence of Pirandello in Portugal at the headquarters of the historic Teatro do Salitre of the Italian Cultural Institute. On Saturday, May 27, in the city of Porto, in collaboration with ASCIP, the Italian Socio Cultural Association of Portugal - Dante Alighieri, there will be the conferences 'Pirandello and the avant-garde’ by Paolo Puppa and 'Pirandello modernity In contemporary culture' by Anna Frabetti, associate professor of Italian Literature at the University of Strasbourg.
