Discovering Goffredo Parise at the Literary Café

(24 May 2017) The Library of the Italian Institute of Culture of Vilnius hosts a new appointment with the "Literary Café" on Thursday, May 25 at 18.00 moderated by the author, Davide Castiglione, on Goffredo Parise: An Italian writer, journalist, screenwriter, essayist, and poet. "Goffredo Parise's three short stories with which we close our Literary Café have the courage to be modest. They start from small everyday events such as a game of glances (Amore/Love), a gallant appointment (Grazia/Grace) or a sudden awakening after a bad dream (Sogno/Dream) to then explore the promises and difficulties in interpersonal relationships". THE LITERARY CAFÉ

The Italian Institute of Culture in Vilnius was inaugurated on January 10, 2000. It is located in the historic palace of the Alumnatas owned by the Archbishop of Vilnius. Its peculiar feature is its quadrangular courtyard surrounded by open-arched loggias that rise vertically on three sides. It was recently declared a UNESCO World Heritage Site for its architectural features and history.
