Cooperation, Frigenti:

(May 25, 2017) The 2016-2018 three-years cooperation policy program "Gives precise and circumscribed objectives and a global project, such as interconnection and the need to find more innovative financing methods, and gives the sense of how Italy is adapted to the new agenda to meet change"says Director of the Italian Agency for Development Cooperation Laura Frigenti at the Joint Foreign Committees of the House of Rapresentatives and Senate. "There is an increase of emergency crisis - she adds - that require help of the international community, which are struggling against limited resources" and therefore "we need to think about the most innovative financial instruments to achieve the goals of 2030. We must always focus on the efficiency and effectiveness of an intervention" said Frigenti "to see if such a diversification of interventions can be successful, the call to maximize effectiveness has not been accepted yet". The problem is another, according to the Director: "I think it is important to strategically and politically reflect on where to invest our resources in order to achieve better results: in 2016, have been invested 406 million and 557 million in 2017, but there was no growth for the agency, that are always limited in the workforce, we are operating with less than 50% of the resources, we would need an energy injection".
