(June 21, 2017) Since that French summer of 1982, when it was first set up and celebrated, the Music Festival has become a popular event in many countries around the world to accompany the summer solstice. On June 21 this year, the Festival is promoted in Ankara with a lyrical music concert featuring Turkish, Italian, and Korean soloists. The Music Festival is a manifestation that aims to celebrate music as the highest expression of culture, participation, and integration. The initiative, promoted in Turkey since June 21th, 2005, is an opportunity for an unforgettable musical experience at the Ankara Opera House. The concert, organised thanks to the collaboration between the Italian Embassy, the Embassy of Republic of Korea, and the General Directorate of the State Opera and Ballet; sees the participation of Korean soprano Lilla Lee, Turkish mezzosoprano Ezgi Karakaya, the Italian tenor Dario Di Vietri and the Turkish baritone Umut Kosman, accompanied by the Ankara State Opera and Ballet Orchestra. The Music Festival concert, directed by Master Alessandro Cedrone, will take place at the Opera House (19:00). (Red)

THE CELEBRATION

The music festival is a popular event that is held every June 21st to celebrate the summer solstice. Beginning in France in 1982, the Fête de la Musique promoted by the Ministry of Culture invited all musicians, professionals, and amateurs to play in the streets of the cities every year. Later, the festival expanded outside France.
