(22 June 2017) "Fighting Organised Crime in the Western Balkans: Police and Judiciary Co-operation": in the framework of this project, carried out by the Italian Ministry of the Interior, a seminar was held at the Sipa (State Investigation and Protection Agency) in Sarajevo, dedicated to financial investigations. The project makes use of funds made available by the EU under the Instrument for Pre-Accession (IPA). "There are two representatives of the Italian Guardia di Finanza who are responsible for financial investigations, according to the Italian Embassy in Sarajevo. Practical examples have shown the Bosnian colleagues the methods, procedures, and collaborations that activate in Italy to fight criminal phenomena, even from a financial point of view. It has been particularly interesting to compare the concrete cases and the operational techniques used in the two realities and are now undergoing further work with the participation of the Italian Guardia di Finanza". Italy is among the first members of the International Community to have established diplomatic relations with Bosnia and Herzegovina in 1996. It supports and encourages the Euro-Atlantic integration path of the country in the major international forums and bilateral relations. Italy is the second commercial partner of Bosnia with a turnover of over €1.5 billion, the first bank investor - with Unicredit and Banca Intesa SanPaolo-, and the country's first cultural partner, thanks to the entry into force of the bilateral cooperation agreement in 2015.
