ABOUT / FLIGHT, A DREAM

Throughout his life, Leonardo da Vinci never ceased to follow his most ambitious dream: human flight. Pursuing this goal, he designed an incredible number of magnificent flying machines that still draw our attention for their ability to anticipate modern flight systems. Leonardo was inspired by flying birds, to whom he devoted a specific study. Thanks to his careful observation of nature, he designed different types of flying solutions that later proved to be reliable and functional. On several pages of his notebooks, it is possible to find patterns of machines that imitate the flight of birds, but also sketches of gliders, parachutes, a prototype of a helicopter, as well as more exotic cars.
