In Chile the ceremony for the 25-year anniversary of the school dedicated to De Gasperi

(September 26, 2017) "Everywhere it is, school is the place where we learn to give the best, we get the best tools to deal with the future and we begin to realize that it's nice to receive, but also give", The governor of Trentino Ugo Rossi said this at the end of the ceremony organized in the Italian school Alcide De Gasperi in La Serena (Chile) to remind the path done in more than a quarter of a century of school life that the Autonomous Province of Trento has supported in several of its projects. The last, in order of time, the realization of its scientific pole. The visit of the Trentino delegation - in addition to Rossi there was council member Lucia Maestri, the President of Trentini in the world Alberto Tafner, that of the UFTE, Mauro Verones, the honorary consul of Aldo Albasini Broll - began from the very new math, physics, chemistry and biology labs, where young people, some of them very young, offered an effective presentation of their study programs and techniques. To honor the honors of the school foundation president, Caterina Pezzani in Callegari, and the principal, Carlos Slomp, and also Franco Dalbosco (honorary consul in the Coquimbo region), Pablo Albasini (honorary consul of the Atacama region) Omar Daud Albasini (consultant in Chile). "Thank you in the name of the delegation for the warm welcome you have reserved for us and that makes us really feel at home - commented President Rossi - but also thanks from the whole people of Trento, because if today we can think of ourselves as a prosperous country, it is also thanks to those who have sought out the conditions to improve their situation abroad, never forgetting their land of origin". Rossi spoke about sacrifice, commitment, hard work, but also intelligence and ability to remain united in remembering our roots. "Even today you have proved to that you know how to thank the area that welcomed you, without forgetting where you came from. And choosing to invest in this school is proof of far-sightedness because it is here that you build integration and perspective towards the future". (Red)

ABOUT / THE HISTORY OF THE INSTITUTE

In Alcide De Gasperi, founded in 1991, thanks to the contributions of Italo Trentina society, the Circolo trentino and the Autonomous Province of Trento, are enrolled 640 boys (40 percent of Italian origin) today. Over the years, the humanistic pole, the sports complex, the library (which holds, as remembered by Caterina Pezzani, the trentino archive with all the documents attesting to 66 years of Trentino emigration in Chile), and ultimately the scientific pole Galileo Galilei, partly funded by the Province, were born. "This school", added Rossi, "also has the merit of knowing how to exploit two languages and cultures. Being named a great Trentino also invites to engage in the community, as Alcide De Gasperi has been able to do. I wish you to find here all the tools that will allow you to achieve your personal success, but at the same time know how to make it available to others".
