The Italian Cinema Orchestra comes to China

(October 23, 2017) After its extraordinary success in Italy and shortly before the new dates of the Harry Potter musical, the Italian Cinema Orchestra will arrive in China for a tour that will travel to some of the most prestigious cultural areas in Shanghai. The orchestra also benefits from the support of the Ministry of Cultural Heritage and Activities, and Tourism. The eighty pieces performed by the band, which have been accredited as the best symphonic body for interpreting Italian and international soundtracks over the course of seven years, will be screened at the Cultural Square in Shanghai on October 24th with the Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone musical- an absolute first for China - directed by Justin Freer and scheduled for three showings. This will be followed by the same programme, under Shi-Hong Yong at the Jiangyin Concert Hall (October 27th) to continue on October 28th at the Poly Theater in Wuxi with a back to back showing. The formation will then approach the soundtracks of contemporary cinema with Daniele Belardinelli who, on October 29, will lead "open air" in Shanghai with a repertoire ranging from Nicola Piovani to Luis Bacalov, Ennio Morricone to Nino Rota, and finally the Oscar Award winner John Williams and La la land soundtrack. In the new Jiangsu Grand Theatre Opera House and the Nanjing Multi Media Hall, with its innovative architecture and excellent acoustics, the Orchestra will complete the tour with Harry Potter directed by Shi-Hong Yonguxi (November 2nd and 4).
