Two concerts for the restoration of the Chapel of the Italians

(October 23, 2017)  Karlova street in Prague, recently organised two concerts in the past few days: Maurizio Sciarretta on October 18th and the Czech Virtuosi Orchestra performed Vivaldi's Four Seasons, while yesterday students of the Prague Conservatory performed Claudio Monteverdi's Ballet of the Ungrateful Ladies. "I saw the Chapel for the first time a few weeks after my arrival, with the pigeons on the floor watching me while defending their territory", joked Ambassador Aldo Amati in his greeting to the audience, pointing out how the Chapel resembled Prague before 1989: gray, suffering, prostrated by the weather and on the verge of collapse. "This place has now come back to life to welcome catechistic activities for children, concerts, ceremonies, religious events. We will also have these spaces - added the Italian diplomat - for the special occasions for events and to revisit what it was like in past centuries. (Red)
