The University of Palermo consolidates its scientific presence in Vietnam

(6 dicembre 2017) A recent announcement by the European Community, which promotes the mobility of students and researchers on the Erasmus + KA107 programme, has permitted a delegation of professors from the University of Palermo to travel to Hanoi to teach researchers and students at the Electric Power University (EPU), and at the Post and Telecommunications Institute of Technology (PTIT). The occasion layed the foundations for future scientific collaborations and those related to the development of PhD projects with EPU, PTIT and the Graduate University of Science and Technology of the Vietnamese Academy of Science and Technology (VAST). The delegation also participated in the 1st Italy-Vietnam Conference on Science and Technology - Bilateral Research Experiences and Projects, at the invitation of the Italian Embassy in Hanoi. At the conference, Prof. Riva Sanseverino presented a project that will be developed with the Institute of Energy Science of VAST. The project, already positively evaluated by both the Italian Ministry for Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation and the Ministry of Science and Technology of Vietnam, is focused on the development of photovoltaics and other plant building technologies in Vietnam. The conference, moderated by Dr. Mariano Anderle, the scientific attaché of the Italian Embassy, took place at the Vietnamese Ministry of Science and Technology in the presence of the Italian ambassador, dott.ssa Cecilia Piccioni.
