On Saturday, the Comites (Committees of Italians Abroad) of Bern and Neuchâtel, the Basilicata Counter, the Lucanian Federation in Switzerland, the Lucanian Association and the Casa d'Italia of Bern, organised a ceremony in honour of the City of Matera - the 2019 European Capital of Culture and the capital of the Basilicata region. "Matera embodies a living example of great cultural, economic and social rebirth", underlined Giuseppe Ticchio from the Lucanian federation in Switzerland.
