Barilla Foundation at World Economic Forum

Developing a global index to provide policy makers and industry experts with a useful tool to guide them in their choices in the fight against the paradoxes of the food system. It is for this purpose that the Barilla Centre for Food & Nutrition Foundation participates, for the first time, at the World Economic Forum in Davos. The starting point will be the presentation of the Food Sustainability Index, an index created by BCFN with The Economist Intelligence Unit to analyse "where" food is produced in a more sustainable way. In the intentions of the organisers the FSI could represent the scientific basis from which to create a new global index. The conference, titled "Aligning initiatives to monitor progress towards a new global food system", will be held today in Davos and will be organised by BCFN in collaboration with the International Food Policy Research Institute (IFPRI), Global Alliance for Improved Nutrition (GAIN), City University of London, Rabobank and EAT Foundation.
