Iran, Made in Italy photovoltaic plant on the Island of Qeshm

(14 marzo 2018) On Sunday the Italian Ambassador in Tehran, Mauro Conciatori has cut the red tape at the photovoltaic park built by the Carlo Marasca Company from Pescara on the island of Qeshm, giving start to energy production. “Blue Earth 2” is spread over 20 hectares of desert land very close to the small town of Qeshm, where 30,000 solar panels are installed and will produce 17 million kilowatt-hours per year. The production is purchased by the State company for Renewables, SATBA (formerly SUNA). The Carlo Marasca Company has also signed other programming agreements for the development of photovoltaic parks in Iran, which they hope to achieve in the near future. The development of solar energy is an optimal solution to strengthen the economic and technological development and employment on the island, while protecting the fragile ecosystem of Qeshm. The initiative is also part of the fruitful dialogue between Italy and Iran on the issues of environmental protection and sustainable development and confirms the historical partnership between Italy and the Hormuzgan region, which has guaranteed prosperity to both Italy and Iran.
