FIT 2017 Latin American International Tourism Exhibition, considered one of the leading Trade Fairs in South America, took place in Buenos Aires involving over forty countries. The Calabria Region was showcased at the Exhibition within the Italian Pavilion set up by ENIT, the Italian Government Tourism Board, with the aim of confronting a new frontier in tourism: "genealogical" tourism. The inauguration of the space that hosts Calabria was directed by the Undersecretary of Tourism, Dorina Bianchi, in the presence of the Italian Ambassador to Argentina Teresa Castaldo; the Argentinian Minister for Tourism, Gustavo Santos; the CFO of ENIT, Leonardo Nucara, and the President of the Federation of Calabrian Associations in Argentina, Julio Croci.
