The IIC of Belgrade presents a retrospective on the artist Daniel Schinasi, founder of Neofuturism curated by his daughter Sarah who will be present at the inauguration on November 9th. The exhibition covers a long period of the artist’s career: 30 works that characterize the Neofuturist style and that focus mainly on music and sports and whose protagonists are movement and dynamism translated into colour and form. Schinasi elaborates a new visual vocabulary for Futurist painting based on Umberto Boccioni and Gino Severini’s aesthetic that focuses on recapturing the humanistic values that have characterize Italian history of art. Along with Carlo Carra and Giorgio De Chirico, he is one of the key figures of the renewal of Italian art in the wider European context, also working in Paris alongside the leading figures in contemporary art. His painting contains a great narrative strength and in addition to his numerous international solo exhibitions, Schinasi also creates murals and other public artworks in which he underlines the humanistic values of Neofuturism. The exhibition will remain open until January 15th, 2018.
