Stefano Battaglia's Trio arrives for the first time in Slovakia, on February 20th to perform in a concert organised by the Italian Institute of Culture at the Concert Hall of the Slovak National Radio in Bratislava. The concert of this Italian jazz group which has been active for years on the international scene, is also the first event that celebrates - with the collaboration of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs - the cultural agreement between Italy and Slovakia. Stefano Battaglia (piano) had a classical education, showing a talent out of the ordinary early on. He discovered jazz at a young age, influenced by Keith Jarrett and Paul Bley. Salvatore Maiore (double bass) is director of the Department of Jazz Music at the Conservatory of Vicenza, where he teaches jazz and electric bass. Roberto Dani (drums) is considered among the major European percussionists.
