(10 may 2018) “Heritage and media - Preserving the future through the past: An opportunity for progress and democracy?" will be the theme of the 25th Annual COPEAM Conference (Permanent Conference of the Audiovisual Mediterranean Operators) in Calvià on the island of Mallorca until May 12th, upon invitation of the Corporación de Radiotelevisión Española. The conference, which will bring together top executives in broadcasting of the Euro-Mediterranean area, professionals in the audiovisual sector, and cultural and institutional representatives in the region; will commence tomorrow with the joint meeting of the COPEAM labour committees (TV, audiovisual heritage, film-festivals-culture, radio, education, news, and gender equality). On the following day at 9:00, the President of RTVE, José Antonio Sánchez, will launch the official opening ceremony of the plenary session attended by Fanny Tur Riera, Councillor for Culture, Sports, and Participation of the Autonomous Government of the Balearic Islands; and EU representative Anna Georgina Isola, Coordinator of the European Cultural Heritage Year.
