The Pope's Lamborghini auctioned to reconstruct Christian villages

(16 may 2018) "We are very grateful for this very paternal gesture made by Pope Francis. The Pontiff is the father of the Church and he thinks of everyone, especially those who suffer like us". This is the Chaldean patriarch of Babylon, Raphael Louis I Sako's comment in relation to the news that the only Lamborghini Huracan, donated to the Pope by the car manufacturer last November 15th, was auctioned on May 12th for €715,000. As desired by the Holy Father, the entire sum will be donated to charity and a large part of the total will go to Aid to the Church in Need to support the reconstruction of the Christian villages of the Niniveh Plains in Iraq. The ACS Plan for the reconstruction of the Christian villages of the Nineveh Plains has allowed many Christians to return to their homes. On March 25th, the families returned to the entire area were 8,213, more than 42% of the 19.452 forced to flee due to the invasion of the Islamic State in August 2014.
