(17 may 2018) Set in Cuglieri, a village in central-western Sardinia: the popular religious ceremonies of the Holy Week are traditionally accompanied by "su concordu" (the choir), made up of four singers, who perform the Miserere (Psalm 50) and the Stabat Mater in Latin. The four "elderly" singers have been able to pass on to their children this important heritage, which has been miraculously preserved even though it is exclusively of oral tradition. They are the protagonists of the work "Voci del sacro" by Renato Morelli. The documentary, which presents and compares two generations of singers involved in the three intense days of the Easter Triduum, will be screened on Thursday, May 24th at the Italian Institute of Culture in Vienna with the director. Morelli, who is also an ethnomusicologist and journalist, has also made films on Trentino and Latin America obtaining numerous international awards.
