(17 may 2018) The Italian Institute of Culture of Budapest will host a theatre workshop "The Commedia dell'Arte as European Heritage" on May 22nd and 25th. The appointment is May 22nd and 25th. The Commedia dell'Arte was born in Italy in the sixteenth century, but its archetypal "fixed types" remain relevant today. "We will experiment with masks and the fixed types and play with improvisation: encounters between the characters will allow us to discover the nature of the 'canovaccio'" as stated by the IIC. At the end of the workshop, on Friday May 25th, the result of the groups work will be presented to the public as a performance. The workshop was organised in collaboration and with the support of the Italian Institute of Culture of Budapest, in the context of the "EUNIC Hungary" network and the European Cultural Heritage month in Hungary.
