(19 June 2018) The third concert of the Vivacissimo Suono Italiano Sydney on Thursday, June 21st at the Italian Institute of Culture. It is a programme made possible thanks to the collaboration with CIDIM - Italian National Music Committee, founded in 1978 with the aim of contributing to the development and international promotion of cultured, classical, and contemporary Italian music. Performing will be the jazz duo Bepi D'Amato (clarinet) and Tony Pancella (piano) who will present the "Duke, Monk and Vice Versa" programme, consisting of music by Thelonious Monk, Duke Ellington, and Billy Strayhorn. This is without a doubt a valuable repertoire in which the compositions of the three American musicians are performed in completely rearranged versions. The concert was organised in collaboration with the Italian Consulate in Brisbane. The two artists have worked together for several years in directing this programme several times, in particular at the 2014 International Pescara Jazz Festival, and at the Vatican Museums in July 2015.
