Physics: international <br> recognitions for prof. Bassi

(2 August 2018) Two important international awards within a few weeks from each other for the University of Trieste which, thanks to Prof. Angelo Bassi's research and his group, has been included on two of the most important educational journals on science: Scientific American and New Scientist. The two journals published their July issues dedicating their respective covers to one of the most important open problems of quantum physics - measurement. It is an issue which Prof. Bassi and his research group, is working on thanks to the international project TEQ financed a few months ago by the European Commission and led by Bassi himself. "We know that the microscopic world is quantum physics, and we know in one way or another that we are classic," said Prof to Scientific American. "We don't know the true nature of matter between the micro and the macro". Bassi, the only representative of an Italian university to be interviewed for these articles, is in the list of scientists who deal with the issue worldwide.
