Italy-Bosnia: conservation <br> and restoration laboratory launched

(16 October 2018) The Italian Embassy in Sarajevo announced the launch of the course on conservation and restoration that will be conducted by the Institute for Conservation and Restoration (ISCR) for the staff of the National Museum of Bosnia and Herzegovina in Sarajevo. The initiative, now in its third edition, is part of a multi-year project developed under the bilateral agreement on cultural cooperation between Italy and Bosnia Herzegovina, and is organised in collaboration with the Italian Embassy in Sarajevo and the General Directorate for the Promotion of the National Italian Economic System of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation. After the workshops on metal artefacts in 2016, and those on wood last year, during which work on the very rare "Pirogue of the Iron Age" measuring over 15 meters in length, dating to the tenth century BCE was carried out, this year's course will be dedicated to the conservation and restoration of ceramic and terracotta artefacts from the Museum's archaeological and ethnographic collection.
