(16 October 2018) Upon the conclusion of the research on the "duty of care" of International Organisations towards its civilian staff engaged in missions of various kinds in areas considered to be at risk for their safety - with the coordination of Andrea de Guttry , Director of the Istituto Dirpolis (Law, Politics, Development) of the Sant'Anna School of Advanced Studies, in collaboration with professors of the University of Florence and the University of Turin - there will be a study and debate day in Vienna, at the Hofburg Palace, home of the OSCE (Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe). The research project, which led to the recent publication of a collective study (A. de Guttry, M. Frulli, E. Greppi, C. Macchi (Ed.) "The Duty of Care of the International Organizations Towards Their Civilian Personnel. Legal Obligations and Implementation Challenges (Springer, TMC ASSER Press, 2018), stemmed from the need to clarify the obligations of international organisations towards civilian personnel sent on missions of various kinds, in areas of the world where their safety and wellbeing could be at risk.
