From Friuli comes the innovative possibility of associating smells with environments reproduced with virtual reality. The solution was presented at the International Scientific Conference on smell ECRO 2022, which this year took place in Berlin between August and September. The Friulian start-up CyNexo presented the evolution of Sniff-0, a platform already tested and appreciated for the neuroscientific study of olfactory perception by scientists all over the world. The addition of the sense of smell to virtual reality allows for an immersive experience on another level, something that scientists studying how the brain perceives and interprets smells consider as extremely innovative and a very useful tool for research and more. In fact, thanks to the use of a viewer that allows entering an immersive reality, the user has not only the feeling of really being in the space represented, but also of perceiving its smells.
