From September 16th to 19th, the cities of Todi and Perugia will host the Edible Planet Summit - the first world summit on food created by Sharon Cittone, founder & CEO of Edible Planet Ventures, a platform where stakeholders in the global food chain can share know-how, resources and best practices. The event will bring to Italy, in the heart of the Umbria region, over 150 experts of the highest international level who will work together for three days to define strategies and concrete guidelines with the aim of ferrying the current food system towards a more sustainable model. Among them will be representatives of the world of the food industry and agriculture, including those of developing countries. NGO, international institutions such as FAO, influencers and politicians, investors and university researchers will be there as well. Among the main topics addressed during the Summit: AgTech innovation, new agricultural systems, alternative ingredients and products, health and nutrition, policy renewal and circular food systems. The idea is to bring together the highest number of participants in the food chain to address, with all the tools that new technologies can offer, the critical problems related to the production, processing, distribution and consumption of food and, last but not least, to pool human energies and economic resources.
