American Express, a global leader in payment services and solutions, announced yesterday that the Board of Directors has appointed Enzo Quarenghi as Senior Vice President and Chief Executive Officer for Italy. In addition to leading the Consumer and Business divisions in the local market, he will also oversee the activities of American Express joint ventures in Switzerland and the Middle East. Enzo Quarenghi joins American Express after a position at Valentino as Chief Client and Technology Officer. In this position, he was responsible for strengthening the brand's client-centric strategy, as well as renewing the technology infrastructure. Prior to joining Valentino, he served as Visa's CEO for Italy. This is his second experience at American Express, where he had worked from 2006 to 2019. During this period, he held several leadership roles, and had served on the Board of Directors of American Express. Previously, he had also held senior positions in Ernst & Young and Accenture, working for clients in various industries including financial services and luxury.
