The Campania Apennines — in Sannio and Irpinia — account for 16% of all wind turbines installed in Italy, with the majority located in the municipalities of Fortore and Tammaro. These territories account for 25% of total production in the South. And it is precisely to these territories that Ener2Crowd.com, the first Italian environmental and energy lending crowdfunding platform, is paying close attention, having recently launched the first EDPR project associated with the construction of a wind farm in the province of Avellino. The use of wind energy is particularly prominent in the province of Benevento. Currently, wind farms with more than 800 MW of installed power (sum of the peak powers of the installed photovoltaic plants) have been constructed; this represents an exceptional performance in relation to the total production of renewable energy. The region Campania is thus among the top regions in terms of installed capacity, with 3,205 MW and an average value of 54.7 kW per 100 inhabitants. Wind comes in first, accounting for 54.4% of the total, followed by photovoltaics at 27.4%, hydroelectric at 10.9%, and bioenergy at 7.4%. With its installations, the wind basin of Benevento's province has reached an estimated 90 percent of its potential capacity.
