The inmates of the prisons of Opera (Milan) and Castelfranco Emilia (Modena) have prepared the 35,000 hosts that will be distributed during the celebrations of the 27th National Eucharistic Congress, scheduled in Matera from 22nd to 25th September. Promoted by the General Inspectorate of Chaplains of Italian prisons, the initiative aims to express the spiritual sharing of the prisoners with the Italian churches and to launch a strong message capable of reaching everyone beyond the bars. The project, realized thanks to the support of the Foundation "La Casa dello Spirito e delle Arti" of the Opera prison and the Social Cooperative "Giorni Nuovi" and "Missione speranza" of the Castelfranco Emilia prison, has seen the involvement of numerous prisoners: the artisanal production of the hosts has been a fundamental stage in their path of reconciliation and reparation for the evil committed, which is supported and encouraged by many chaplains and volunteers who make the prisons a place of recovery and not dustbins of anger.
