The Police of Asti arrested yesterday an injured person who has been the protagonist of acts of persecution against his young ex-girlfriend. The threatening and violent behavior had been going on for some time now even though the victim, who had been forced to leave her home out of fear, had never reported anything. In recent days, the man has reached the point of threatening his former partner on the phone to go to her parents' apartment and start a fire. Given the seriousness of the situation, the woman alerted the police station by calling the emergency number 112, which immediately sent police officers to the indicated address, simultaneously alerting all patrols in the territory to track down the stalker. As the police gathered the first alarming information about the persecution from the woman’s parents, the man reached the house by car. Recognized by the victim's father, the man was immediately stopped and found in possession of a wooden bat, a tank full of gasoline and a lighter. From the investigations, and thanks also to the testimonies of the people involved, an even more alarming picture is revealed: only a few days earlier, in a jealous rage following the woman's decision to leave him, the man had forced her to get on board his car wielding a knife, destroying her cell phone and glasses, then he cut the tires of two cars owned by her parents, thus hoping to convince her to return to her steps. There were also numerous phone calls made to the former and numerous messages. The conduct described, although not reported, had fortunately led the parents to convince the girl to leave Asti for some time, going to a safer place with relatives. The stalker, however, had continued his alarming threats against her parents. In view of the previous convictions reported by the stalker, his homes were searched and numerous ammunition for short weapons and three marijuana plants were found. Given the persecutory conduct and the other crimes identified, the man was then arrested.
