Giorgia Meloni, the future prime minister of Italy, has sent "an invitation" to the press so that journalists and photographers do not bother her six-year-old daughter Ginevra. The letter, sent to agencies, newspapers, weekly publications, and periodicals, is signed by the attorney Annamaria Bernardini De Pace on behalf of the September 25 election winner and her partner Andrea Gianbruno. The invitation is to "avoid in any way and by any means publishing or disseminating images that depict the younger daughter; as well as refraining from stalking, encircling, and intimidating her with inappropriate presences; and finally, refraining from making public and visually recognizable names, addresses, and contact details of the places usually frequented by the minor (home, school, sports and recreational center, and more), as has already recklessly and illegitimately happened. In support of the request, the Community legislation on privacy and the journalistic code of ethics are cited, which require anonymity, confidentiality, protection of personal data as well as the image of any minor involved in news events, and which prohibit the publication of any information or data that could lead to the child's identification. In recent days, obsessive media attention has centered on Meloni's daughter Geneva.
