Incoming contributions throughout the country: 9,008 "pink stalls" for the parking of vehicles of pregnant women or parents with children up to two years and 2,432 spaces relating to the parking of vehicles at the service of people with disabilities, already made or to be made, with a total financial commitment of over five million euros. The data derived from the 781 requests received between July 27 and September 20 through the platform of the Ministry of Sustainable Infrastructure and Mobility (MIMS), which will commit the entire fund established by the 2021 Budget Law. The fund also provides contributions to municipalities for the free parking of vehicles used to serve disabled people if the reserved stalls are already occupied, a measure aimed to facilitate the travel of the concerned categories, minimizing inconvenience and improving the life quality of people. "This initiative will ensure a better exercise of the right to mobility throughout the national territory, in large urban centers but also in small and medium-sized municipalities, to which is set a significant share of the fund," said the Minister of Sustainable Mobility, Enrico Giovannini, expressing satisfaction with the results highlighted. "Since the first day of the opening of the online platform, many requests have been received to testify to the responsiveness of the Municipalities in promoting the paradigm shift towards more inclusive and therefore more sustainable mobility. I hope the new government will confirm the measures we have taken in this field."
