It is expected that Italian GDP will increase by 0.5% in the third quarter of 2022 compared to the previous quarter. The figure, released by ISTAT yesterday, is yet another positive surprise about the vitality and reaction capacity of the Italian economy. The cyclical growth rate of 0.5%, which places us among the most dynamic countries in Europe, is, in fact, in contrast to the main forecasters' expectations of a moderate decrease (-0.4% according to the Focus Economics network). At the heart of this positive trend, according to CONFCOMMERCIO, is the gradual recovery of services, particularly those related to tourism and leisure, which have also benefited from foreign demand. The figure also confirms the possibility of overall growth in 2022 of 3.5% or higher. This, however, does not alleviate concerns about the economy's performance in the coming months.
