The new Made in Italy wine hits the market with approximately 6 million bottles from the 2022 harvest. As Coldiretti pointed out, the so-called "déblocage" (the process of modulating wine production based on market demand) was brought forward to November 30th in Italy this year, nearly three weeks earlier than the competitor Beaujolais nouveau in France, which can only be tasted beginning November 17th. In a year marked by emergency costs that hit the wine sector with increases from bottles to labels to caps, the new wine is consumed primarily in combination with autumn products such as roasted chestnuts at fairs and festivals.
