With nine brands present, Italy is the most represented country in the ranking of the major fashion multinationals, although on the front of revenues France is the first, with a share equal to 40% of aggregate turnover. This is what emerges from the "World Fashion System" report prepared by Mediobanca, which analyzes the data of the 78 largest fashion multinationals with revenues of more than one billion euros each. Of these, 35 are based in Europe, 29 in North America, 12 in Asia and two in Africa. From the data for the first half of 2022, according to the report, the turnover of the major world players in fashion grew by 15%, driven by Europe (+24%) and America (+19%, in turn in the wake of US performance). Asia's growth is lower (+3%), penalized by the regime of restrictions related to the containment of Covid-19. The 78 companies considered in the report, last year had a total turnover of 497 billion euros, of which 57% generated by European players and 33% by North Americans. In the ranking, the undisputed queen of revenues is still Lvmh (64.2 billion euros), followed by Nike (41.2 billion), the Spanish Inditex (27.7 billion), the German Adidas (21.2 billion), EssilorLuxottica (19.8 billion), the Swedish fast fashion giant H&M (19.4 billion) and the Swiss group Richemont (19.1 billion). In Italy, the first is Prada (3.4 billion euros), in 33rd place, followed by Calzedonia Holding (46th), Moncler (52nd) and Giorgio Armani (54th).
