The Chianti Lovers Americas Tour, created by the Chianti Wine Consortium to promote the designation to the conquest of America, continues. Yesterday the initiative made a stop in Miami, the city that hosts the richest community of Italians in the USA. According to the Consulate General of Italy in Miami, there are roughly 40 thousand Italians in the region, plus an estimated 300 thousand Italian-Americans. Additionally, Italy has a yearly trade surplus of around $3 billion per year with the Southeastern United States, and it exports over $5 billion in items, the most prominent of which are food and beverage products. A group of firms from the Chianti Wine Consortium gathered in Miami, the American birthplace of “Italianness”, and gave birth to a dynamic workshop with B2B sessions and in other areas of study. The star of the show was the Chianti Superiore, which was presented and tasted vertically by wine educator Lyn Farmer.
