In Italy, only one in three children (31.3%) consumes vegetables every day while 7.8% say they take it to the table less than once a week and 6% say they never eat it. This is what emerges from the analysis of Coldiretti on the report dedicated to childhood obesity of the World Health Organization that analyzed the data for the period 2018-2020. The result of these incorrect dietary styles is that Italian children between 7 and 9 years of age with a percentage of 37% have the highest rates of overweight among 33 countries examined, after Cyprus and Greece. In the Belpaese, 38.8% of children aged 8 years and 37.4% of those aged 9 years are overweight; among these, 17.1% and 15.8% are obese, respectively. A worrying situation for Italy, world leader in the quality of food with the basic products of the Mediterranean diet that have become a model of consumption all over the world.
