Last Tuesday, at the Parco dei Principi Hotel in Bari, 20 pastry artisans competed during the sixth edition of the “Mastro Panettone” competition organized by Goloasi.it, which rewards the best Christmas bakery of the year. To judge the work of pastry chefs was the President of the Jury Giambattista Montanari and a commission composed of professionals in the sector: Matteo Dolcemascolo, Eustachio Sapone, Francesco Borioli, Giuseppe Mancini and Antonio Daloiso. During the final, a series of “blind tastings” decreed Marco Infante of the Neapolitan Casa Infante bakery the winner of the prize for the Best Pandoro in Italy 2022, followed by Fiorenzo Ascolese of Panificio Ascolese in San Valentino Torio (Salerno), who won the prize for the Best Artisanal Panettone. "I admit," declares Infante, "this is the prize I have always wanted, ever since I was very young. I dedicate it to my team who with passion and dedication take care of the product and improve every day in order to offer an excellent product." This confirms the Campania vocation in the world of artisanal bakery, which Infante defines as "a responsibility towards customers". On the podium also Apulian confectionery, whose commitment wins the award for the Best Creative Chocolate Panettone.
