The climate crisis overlaps with the energy crisis and represents a further threat to the Italian typical production. This is the alarm raised yesterday by CONFEURO, the Federation of European farmers. While the COP27 on climate is underway in Egypt, data have been released, heralding a very difficult period for foods of the Mediterranean diet. The triggers are to be found especially in higher temperatures and prolonged periods of drought. To pay the highest price are some symbolic productions of Italy as olive oil, which this year recorded a reduction of 30%. But the decrease also affects raisins, pulp and tomato sauces (- 11%) and durum wheat used for pasta (- 5%).
