Lega has presented a draft law that provides an incentive of 20 thousand euros to weddings, initially only for those with a religious rite. Then, following the controversies that have come from different fronts remembering the secularity of the State, came the reverse and the correction of the first signatory, Deputy Domenico Furgiuele: "The proposal, which is aimed at encouraging the wedding sector and provided for a bonus intended only for religious marriages for reasons of burdens, will naturally be extended to all marriages, regardless of whether they are celebrated in the church or not," said the representative of Lega. The proposal would allow a 20% deduction of the expenses related to the celebration of the wedding: ornaments, decorative flowers, aisle runner and booklets but also the clothes for the bride and groom, the catering service, the wedding favors, the hairdresser, the make-up, and the photographer. The goal is to revive the fortunes of the wedding sector: in Italy, in fact, weddings have been in decline for years and during the pandemic have literally collapsed, especially religious ones.
