NASA's Artemis 1 mission took off from NASA's Kennedy Space Center on November 16, together with ArgoMoon, the Italian Space Agency satellite developed and operated by Argotec. ArgoMoon was released from the second stage of SLS at 11:34 CET, so Argotec engineers captured the signal a few minutes later, taking control of the communication with the satellite. Because of the complex post-deployment maneuvers, the Flight Control Team took longer to finalize the first phase of the mission's operations. In the late evening, however, the satellite was in stable condition and the next day, 15 minutes after midnight CET, ArgoMoon had captured a photo of the Earth to calibrate the cameras. Later, on November 17 at 11:55:10 CET, it also took a photo of the Moon. The two incredible images of the Earth and the Moon were taken at a distance of about 125,000 and 278,500 kilometers respectively.
