Yesterday was the National Day in Memory of Road Victims in Italy, which was devoted to those who died on the road and their families. A key occasion that necessitates a reflection on how critical it is to adopt mindful and right conduct when driving. Road safety is a big issue in Italy, as it is in other European nations, particularly considering the European aim of dramatically lowering the number of casualties by 2030, eventually reaching zero by 2050. For years, Italy has been on a complicated road to cope with the occurrence of accidents, with awareness campaigns and legal education programs that mostly include young people. According to ISTAT, there were 151,875 car accidents in 2021. Of those, 2,875 people died and 204,728 were hurt. This means that every day, almost eight people died on the road. In comparison, there were 263,100 accidents in 2001, resulting in 7,096 fatalities and 373,286 injuries, or over twenty deaths per 24 hours.
