"I am very pleased with the work we have done with this maneuver for two reasons: the first is that we have written a budget law that is not limited to accounting work, but makes political choices. I am also happy that the approach we have had is the one we would have had if we had dealt with a family budget; therefore, if you lack the resources, you are not worrying about consensus but about what is right to do to make the family grow in the best way." These were the words of Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni in a press conference at Palazzo Chigi, in the aftermath of the Council of Ministers and the launch of the 35 billion maneuver: 21 billion of the sum are destined to face the effects of expensive energy, "with tax credits for companies confirmed and increased from 40 to 45% for energy-intensive companies and from 30 to 35% for non-energy-intensive ones". As for families, "the State intervenes to reduce the cost of bills for families, bringing the maximum ISEE certificate from 12,000 to 15,000 euros," explained Meloni referring to the measure of 9 billion euros. "It is a maneuver consistent with the commitments made with the Italian people and courageous because it bets on the future," continued Meloni, who indicated "two great priorities": "growth, which means securing the productive fabric, encouraging work and those in a time of great difficulty to roll up their sleeves" and "social justice, with attention to families with the lowest incomes."
