The role of interconnections for an increasingly efficient and secure electricity system, the resilience of grids, the development of renewable sources and storage systems: these were the topics that the steering board of GO15, the international association of leading electricity grid operators, chaired by Stefano Donnarumma, Terna's Chief Executive Officer, focused on during its annual meeting held in Rome. During the two days of work, the Chief Executive Officers of some of the most important international Transmission System Operators, which overall manage around 50% of electricity transmission globally, discussed the fundamental issues of the energy transition and the security of electrical systems. Among the participants in attendance, Stefano Donnarumma himself, the CEO of the American company MISO and the CEO of GCCIA, the company that manages the grids of the six Persian Gulf states, while the other 12 representatives, from Belgium to India, from South Korea to France and Brazil, connected remotely. The GO15 delegation also had the opportunity to exchange views on the topics of the meeting with the Chairman of the ARERA Italian Authority, Stefano Besseghini, who illustrated the best practices of the Italian system to the participants.
