The latest batch of ESA astronauts was announced in the Grand Palais Éphémère in Paris yesterday. Class composed of professional astronauts, backup astronauts, and astronauts with physical disabilities for a feasibility study. Also included among the reserves are two Italians. They are Andrea Patassa, age 31, from Spoleto, and Anthea Comellini, age 30, from Chiari in the province of Brescia. "A good fortune and an honor," remarked both Comellini and Patassa. With their addition, the number of Italian astronauts in ESA rises to four, including Luca Parmitano and Samantha Cristoforetti.
