Almost half of Italians (48%) make purchases online on Cyber Monday, the culmination of a week of sales that started on Black Friday. This is the finding of the annual Coldiretti/Ixe' study conducted on "cybernetic Monday," which this year is November 28. Italians between the ages of 45 and 54 are the most likely to shop online, with a rate of 77%, compared to 58% among those aged 18 to 34 and 59% among those aged 35 to 44 (both groups benefiting from a more stable financial condition than their younger counterparts). Although 17% of Americans over the age of 64 now make purchases online, it remains challenging for the elderly. Between Cyber Monday and Black Friday, people spend a total of 5.3 billion euros, even though their budgets are very different. While 51% of consumers plan to spend less than 100 euros, 27% will spend between 200 and 300 euros, and 7% will spend more than 300 euros.
