In seven months, doctors and patients from Basilicata transferred 95% of their reports, analyses and prescriptions to the Electronic Health File. Previously, it was less than 30%. During the same period, digital health increased from 1.6 to 53% in Campania, from 50 to 80% in Piedmont. Progress has also been remarkable in terms of the transferability of data among different regions, especially among Emilia-Romagna, Lombardy and Apulia: here the migration of documents, which is very important for those who get treatment away from home, has increased from 14 to 93%. These very encouraging and perhaps unexpected numbers are part of the pilot project launched by the previous government in six regions to promote the use of the Electronic Health FIle, a crucial tool for the proper functioning of the health system. By entrusting the history of one's health to a digital archive and allowing family doctors and hospital doctors to share it, the citizen can be better treated, and public health can avoid many wastes. Now, thanks to the National Recovery and Resilience Plan (PNRR), 600 million are available to take off the system in other regions as well. The new electronic file will make it possible to consult clinical data but also book and pay for services, access telemedicine services, and receive information on your pathology. Pharmacists and nurses will also have an advantage, since they will be able to access the information, they are responsible for. Everything will be fully operational by 2026.
