The BBC Music Magazine, a magazine dedicated to classical music, has included the Orchestra of the National Academy of Santa Cecilia among the best twenty orchestras in the world. It is the third time that the authoritative magazine has elected the Roman Orchestra among the greatest bands of the globe. The goal also comes thanks to the musical direction, entrusted in 2005 to Sir Antonio Pappano, with whom Santa Cecilia has recorded more than thirty CDs with famous soloists such as Martha Argerich, Janine Jansen, Jonas Kaufmann, Anna Netrebko, Diana Damrau. In its numerous tours, the Orchestra has performed in the most famous temples of music such as the Berlin Philharmonic, the Musikverein in Vienna, the Carnegie Hall in New York, and the Scala in Milan. To confirm its appreciation in the international field, a new tour has already been scheduled: between January 23 and February 4, the orchestra will return to perform abroad with a European tour in many cities, including Vienna (January 23 and 24), Munich (January 25), Hamburg (January 31, February 1) and Paris (February 2).
