"Postponement to February 28." With a short post on Facebook, Patrick Zaki reports that the Mansoura court has again updated the trial hearing in which he risks a sentence of up to five years in prison on charges of spreading false news. The Egyptian student from the University of Bologna was detained in Cairo for 22 months, before being released in December 2021. Before the postponement of this last hearing, Zaki had always written on social media: "I am grateful to all friends for their infinite support. At each session I receive a huge number of messages of support and love that make me feel like I'm not alone in this difficult experience and give me some hope that something beautiful may happen soon. I hope that this nightmare ends soon and that I can return to study in Italy normally. " The Italian section of Amnesty International denounces the postponement on its Facebook page: "Another postponement of the trial hearing to Patrick Zaki. We return to the Chamber on February 28. It is an abnormal postponement considering that the ninth hearing will be held when it has been well over three years since the beginning of this judicial persecution".
