Repubblica published rumors that the Prada Group would have put Andrea Guerra in charge of running the company. According to the newspaper, the decision would have developed in recent weeks and might be made official as early as January. The group's board of directors has yet to meet in order to specify and authorize the proxies to be given to Guerra. "But even if the shape must be refined - says the newspaper -, the doubts are very few, it is no accident that in recent days Guerra would have gone on a reconnaissance trip along with the CEO Patrizio Bertelli in the top floors of the Prada headquarters in via Fogazzaro in Milan." Guerra's resume includes stints at Indesit Company before taking over Luxottica and Eataly. He also worked for LVMH as head of the Hospitality Excellence division and as a member of the French conglomerate's executive committee, which includes Fendi, Dior, and Loro Piana, a position he will leave at the end of the year. Bertelli and Guerra have known one other since 2003, when the manager persuaded Prada, at the time a 5% stakeholder in the eyeglasses business De Rigo, to commit the licensing of Prada and Miu Miu eyewear to Luxottica. In recent years, the two managers' connection has become even stronger.
